Wow. That title up there is a mouth full! We had an absolute blast hosting the Halo 4 - 2v2 tournament at Salt Fest this year. I would have to say that it's the best tournament we've had the privilege of running. We had some extremely close games, some sudden death matches due to tied games, and by far the best players we've seen in our competition's to date. We have come a long way since we started hosting tournaments 3 years ago, and we couldn't have done it with out you; the gamer.
Here is a link to the INSANE finals for our Halo 4 - 2v2 tournament. We already announced the winners on Twitter, but Team Utah Noobs took first place. They were the winner's of the "winner's bracket", but definitely had an incredible final round with @Selph_Titled, and @BrianShostak, who took second place.
So what's next? We announced at the end of day one of Salt Fest our name change. For those of you who didn't catch that on the Twitter feed, we are proud to announce our new name from this point forward; The Hive Gaming League. Now that we are focused on nothing but competitive gaming and are wanting to create a legit league that people join per season, we wanted to go through a re-branding for this fresh start.
We are unsure of when Season 1 will start, but we are hopeful that it will begin towards the end of July. We would like to leave what games we use up to you, the competitor. So be sure to vote for which games you want in Season 1 in our poll to your right!
Hopefully The Hive Gaming League will be getting a logo sooner than later, and a new website to go along with it, but until then, keep coming back here for all updates. Also be sure to follow us on Facebook, and Twitter as we will likely post there first with quick announcements and tidbits. The future of Utah's competitive gaming is near, and extremely bright! We want you along for the ride.
Until next time, keep on gamin' on! OH, and welcome to The Hive. #HGL2014
