Number Five:
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
For many years Nintendo has produced unforgettable Zelda titles. "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" has received extremely high recognition for its dramatic story, usage of the Wii's motion control, a beautiful world, and addictive gameplay. I have always been a huge Zelda fan, and believe that this game could be a big upset over larger multi-console games.
Number Four:
Uncharted 3
Naughty Dog has created a truly incredible experience with the Uncharted series. "Uncharted 3" received perfect scores, and a handful of near perfect scores to go along with it. The design of this game is absolutely brilliant, and is one of the best adventures on PS3, and could possibly be the game of the year.
Number Three:
Gears of War 3
One of my favorite titles of 2011 has to be "Gears of War 3". Not only is it Epic Games' conclusion of one of the most beloved Xbox 360 Exclusive titles, but it also has some of the most addicting multiplayer mode that I've ever played. The customization is nearly endless, the graphics are extremely detailed, the gameplay is fluid and entertaining, and replayability is huge.
Number Two
Batman: Arkham City
Not only is "Batman: Arkham City" the best comic book game I have every played, but it's also one of the best games I've ever played. On the edge of your seat story, perfected combat, seamless navigation, dark and colorful graphics, and challenges that will keep you wanting more every time you walk away are all of what Arkham City has to offer.
Number One
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
This game has been at the top of my list since the day I bought it. I have put countless hours into it, and am not even close to finishing it. With over 300 hours of gameplay to be had, this game has some of the best RPG elements I have ever seen in a game. The ability to create your character in a natural fashion is one of the best ideas implemented into a game that I have seen. Rather than picking a class like a mage, you develop the skills you want your character to have. If you want a thief that walks around in heavy armor, and specializes in two handed weapons, you can do that. If you want a character to be an assassin that specializes in magicka, then you can do that. There is no end to this game. It is the biggest game that I have ever played; with over 16 square miles of mountains, dungeons, countrysides, and canyons to explore, you are sure to play this game for hours, and still not see everything. The soundtrack is absolutely incredible. It makes you feel like you are in Skyrim, and goes perfect for every situation you find yourself in. The story puts you into the shoes of a hero that you want to become, and is sure to leave you wanting to fight more dragons and creatures every time you turn off the game. If you can bring yourself to turn it off. I believe "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" will win the Game of the Year award because of how much it has to offer, and for the unique design of it's world. I will be playing this game for years to come!
I want to know what game you think will win game of the year. It could be from my list, or it could be a game not on my list. Please leave your thoughts below, for the rest of us to snack on.
Until next time, keep on gamin' on!
