Salt Fest 2014: Halo 4 - 2v2 Settings and Rules

It's almost that time gamers. Salt Fest 2014 is weeks away. Excited? We sure are! What settings can you expect for Salt Fest 2014? Halo 4 - Version 5 settings. Listed below are the version 5 maps for the 2 versus 2 tournament we will be throwing.

• Simplex
• Onyx

GAMETYPE

• Team Slayer

SCORE LIMIT

• 25 Kills

All matches must be played in their entirety unless both teams agree to postpone or cancel the match. A Standard Ladder Match will be played best of 3 maps (first to 2). Finals will be best of 5 maps (first to 3).

Each player must bring their own controller. SCUF Controllers are allowed. Controllers found modding the gameplay of Halo 4 (I.E. increased speeds of a player, weapon, and one hit kills with weapons that aren't programmed that way, etc.) will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament with no refund of moneys.

Each player may choose to bring their own headsets. These will not be provided at Salt Fest 2014. Please be aware of this, and plan accordingly.

Timers may be used, as long as they are not over cumbersome, and do not take longer than 5 minutes to set up. 

Coaches are allowed, but must pay for a Salt Fest day, or weekend pass to participate. Coaches will not need to pay the tournament entree fee ($10), however.

Salt Fest 2014 Tournament: Final Games Decision

With Salt Fest peeking it's head around the corner, and having several voting sessions, we have come to a conclusion for this years Salt Fest Tournament. Please note that this is the plan for this year. 

Salt Fest 2014 Update

Recently we had the opportunity to meet with the people over at Salt Fest, and discuss what to expect at this years Salt Fest. Here is what we found out.

The company that provided all of the amazing equipment at last year's Salt Fest will likely not be attending this year, and as of right now, we have much less equipment than we had anticipated.

We were planning on running a Halo Reach 2v2 tournament, a Halo 4 - 2v2 tournament, and a Call of Duty: Ghosts 4v4 tournament. Because of the lack of equipment, we have to drop at least one of these tournaments. To your right, you will notice a poll asking which one of these titles should be dropped from this years Salt Fest. If you are planning on competing at this years Salt Fest, please put in your vote so your voice will be heard!

We have been asked what rules will be used for each of these titles, and at this point, we will be using the same rule set as Major League Gaming. As far as gametypes, that has yet to be decided. As soon as we have that information, we will share it with all of you!

Make sure you put in your vote to the right, of which game we should drop at this years Salt Fest, and check back frequently for updates!

December 14, 2013 - Call of Duty: Ghosts - 2v2 Tournament Registration is open!

Registration for the Call of Duty: Ghosts - 2v2 Tournament (Xbox One) is now open! Please e-mail your team name, and the names of your team mates. You must bring cash to The Gamerz Funk the day of the tournament to finalize your registration. To get the $10 preregistration price, you must register by 8 p.m. on December 13, 2013. If you register after 8 p.m. on December 13, 2013, the cost will be $15 per person. You may also register at The Gamerz Funk between 11 a.m. And 11:30 a.m. on December 14, 2013, for $15.00 per person. Details for this tournament can be found here.
