At the PAX 2011(Penny Arcade Expo) this weekend, 343 Industries opened up on the details for the up coming Halo trilogy, and said that they are calling it "The Reclaimer Trilogy". Questions were asked about where Master Chief will be exploring in Halo 4, and topics such as Cortana's role were addressed.
343 even talked about the multiplayer in Halo 4. Obviously things are still in the early development process, but 343 was kind enough to talk about all that they could at this point, which really impressed me considering that Halo 4 isn't set to hit shelves until Holiday of 2012!
343 said that this was really their chance to dive into Master Chief's history. They said that Bungie Studios couldn't really do this, because they were trying to see if they could get an audience for the game. They said that now that there is an audience for Halo, they can dive deeper into his past, and focus on making a epic story from the get-go.

I'm very excited to see 343's perspective on an already massively successful franchise. It will be interesting to see the differences and nuances they bring to the board, especially considering how high Bungie set the bar. Having seen some interviews with 343 execs, they seem quite capable and especially enthusiastic about taking the baton. Should be fun to watch, AND play.
