While many of you may know some of the rumored names for the next Xbox, some of you may not. A couple of these rumored names are the Xbox 720, and it's project code name of "Durango". The one I am hoping for most would have to be the Xbox8. For those of you who do not know, the 8 is also a symbol for "Infinity".
Microsoft purchased several domain names last year after E3, and one of them happened to be Xbox8. The fact that Microsoft actually went through the process of registering this domain has me personally convinced that the next Xbox will in fact be called "Infinity".
Infinity would be a much better name to me than the most commonly used rumor name of "720". I hate to think that Microsoft would be so dull as to keep going in sequential order of number, based off of the 360. If this were the case, then we would eventually get to Xbox 1080, and that's just plain stupid. Many of you know that we are disappointed in Sony for going with PS4 for the name of their next gen console, so you can bet we feel the same about the next Xbox being named something so boring, and predictable as "720".
We do know that the PS4's hardware will pack a huge punch, and we can only hope for the same out of the Infinity. I am incredibly anxious to see what the pricing of the PS4, and Infinity will be so that I can start saving my pennies! Regardless, I can guarantee that the next generation of consoles is going to be so much more than we can even imagine right now. Even Sony has been tight lipped about the majority of the spec's of the PS4. We are all curious about the "eye" technology that they revealed only a few weeks ago. I can't even imagine what they have in store for us, and what Microsoft plans on doing with the Kinect technology this time around. My bet is that they go with the USB 3.0 port for it, so that information will flow from the Kinect it's self, to the Infinity, in a much smoother, quicker, and higher quality fashion.

I'm not sure about the name, but I do like the idea around infinity. I'm just hoping that they eventually come out with a handheld that has the classic xbox originals on it. It would be sick to be able to lan H1 with my friends on a portable.
