Assassin's Creed III Multiplayer Thoughts

Today Ubisoft released the trailer for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed III: Multiplayer. I'm blown away. Ubisoft has done a really good job in the past couple of games by bringing the single player experience to the multiplayer realm. One example I can give that's in this trailer is that each map shows the weather, and day or night lighting system included in the single player of AC:III. From the trailer, it looks like that if a player gets into a game, it could be during the evening one time, and during the day the next time. Another example is that a player could play on a map during a rain storm one time, and a snow storm the next.

It looks as if the weapon and character variations is much larger this time. Along with a larger number of characters comes new abilities. This trailer shows some pretty sweet new abilities, such as a player walking up to a group of civilians, and one other NPC in the group changing into what that player looks like to confuse others. A new version of the fireworks ability which would make all other surrounding NPC's cover their ears and drop to the ground revealing where a person's actual target is. There is also an ability that allows a player to drop a hand full of money on the ground so that surrounding NPC's rush to pick up the money, revealing the hiding player. One new addition is the ability to run through surrounding NPC's so that the chase to get to a running target becomes easier if detected further away.

Ubisoft has improved this multiplayer over what has been seen in the previous games and is making a totally unique experience for veteran and new players alike! I have played every major Assassin's Creed title up to date, and I am overwhelmed with joy that I get to sink my teeth into the juicy game that AC:III will be on October 30, 2012! Until next time, keep on gamin' on!
